I attended the North Bennet Street School of Boston and graduated from the Violin making program in 2001. While in Boston, I had the opportunity to apprentice under Arthur Toman, learning repair, restoration, and furthering my violin making skills. In his shop I had the good fortune to see many fine instruments in the hands of the most skilled players. In recent years I have participated in the Oberlin Summer Violin Makers Workshop. I have traveled abroad for exhibitions as well as participated in many national luthiery events.
I have recently relocated my shop to Portland, Oregon in order to enjoy the lovely climate and natural surroundings. Portland has a thriving luthiery community which will convene in April for the 2007 Marylhurst Handmade Instrument exhibition.
